Radio Removal Question

Radio Removal Question
I have a quick question.
Three of the four speakers have gone dead on my (base) audio system. I would have assumed the radio had channels going dead, but after reading some previous threads, it looks like the speakers may actually be failing. I intend to unplug the radio and check the impedance of the speakers at the radio connector.
If I remove the radio and then re-install it, it should work without any reprogramming, correct?
The service manual says that it compares the VIN of the car to the VIN programmed in the radio. I am assuming the VIN programmed into the radio stays programmed into it even if you remove power. But I want to be sure before I disconnect anything.
Thanks
Steve
