RE: Audio steering wheel buttons

Has anyone added the audio steering wheel buttons on an O8? Do you have part numbers (Cashmire) and prices? Wondering if this is a straight forward plug-in or does it require some wire swaps.

You might want to use the Search function.

Here's one to help you, but it is on a 2006. The 2008's are PROBABLY the same.

The buttons on the 2007 are different from those on the 2006. We would probably need to see a picture of the other side to help you determine if they are the same as either of those and go from there. Just an idea...and maybe someone with an 08 that has them would be kind enough to do that for us.

not to side track here but quick question...im wanting to add the radio buttons to mine just so that the steering wheel wont look half assed, some buttons on the left and none on the right. will the radio buttons work with an aftermarket radio? im thinking it doesn't but just wann be sure. $40.00 is quite of money to spend on a mod that does nothing other than fill up empty space.

They make a adapter for steering wheel. I have one from Pac and ng has one also, I am sure there are others too. It cost me around $100 for adapter and install of it. It needs to be programed.

Just a word of caution-I tried installing the PAC to make my factory steering wheel buttons work on my aftermarket radio. I did it at my friends stereo shop, plus I have quite a bit of experience working with car audio. I followed all of the instructions-but felt a little hesistant about hooking up one of the PAC wires to 12 volts. The instructions clearly said to, so I did. I blew up my Metra adapter-created billows of smoke and everything. I planned on getting a different adapter, anyways, to allow me to use an aftermarket amp and not the factory one. Still, now I am hesitant about trying it again. But I sure would like to get my steering wheel buttons working again!
