Aloha bdubsee!

I just got mine off of e-bay today, thanks to your great info.
Now i'm hoping you'll be posting your pics of your install as far as how and where you placed the different components. Also any advice on possible problems or hassles in doing the install. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mahalo

BTW- I installed the system for three reasons: 1) I am legally blind in my right eye and it gives me a greater comfort level, 2) I have an 18 month old daughter (not to mention neighborhood kids) that I don't want to run over and 3) 91 children have been backed over and killed since 2003. It's a nice additional layer of prevention. I think they should be standard on all vehicles - they have saved me hundreds of dollars by warning me of objects that I couldn't see.
I opt to go will the visual effect with rear camera viewing with my indash unit. (which is capable for this setup) see this link, post #6 https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/featured-hhr-submissions-43/december-submission-5407/

Would those sensors work if they were installed on the lower part of the bumper, the part that is tucked more underneath the vehicle?

The manufacture recommends for best results to install the sensors between 50 to 65cm (19.7 to 25.6 inches) where the bumper is vertical to the ground. Just as a reference, mine are set at 49.5cm (19.5 inches) from the ground to the top of the sensor and they work perfectly....I think that by mounting them that low, the sensors would confuse the ground as an object, which of course would set off a false alarm. Just my opinion though.....Regards

I thought that might be the case RUDEINC, either that or it might mistake the slightly overhanging bumper as an object, I just thought it might be a little more stealthy under there

I do like the stealthy idea! But depending on which sensors you choose, they really do blend in to the bumper when they are painted the same color as the body....Like on bdubsee's ride, his are a little more tough to see than mine because I decided to go with the light up sensor instead of the solid ones....Regards
