sorry
i don't know the answers to those sat radio questions.....also sorry i'm jacking this thread , but at least i'm bumping it ....i was searching for an answer to anouther xm radio ?.....when you call to activate a xm account , how do they enable your unit ? is it by your vin #? or is there some other info one would need to give ?.....oh , i would assume that some radios are are plug and play for adding the xm module , but i am really not sure.

Right, my understanding is you have an XM ready unit..without the module...but the stereo is set up to control it, and then you have XM units with the actual module factory installed.
I don't think all of the stereos are XM ready(i.e. don't have the CAT button) so in that case you would have to use a transceiver since it isn't supported natively. *I think*
But the reason I brought it up was someone said to go to a certain station or something to get your ID....well I can't do that because when I push the CAT button, it just says XM feature...it doesn't do anything else...so I don't know how to get my ID.
