Speaker Brackets/Adapters

Does any one know where to get the speaker brackets/adapters to mount aftermarket speakers in the door panels? Will I have to drill some holes in order to mount aftermarket speakers? Or, would I be better off cutting out the factory speakers in order to use the factory speaker bracket?

Thanks ...

What sound system do you have in your HHR, the regular one or the Pioneer?

Totally wrong! What advice did I give you O6ChevyHHR? If you have the premium Pioneer system you can use the factory rings just like I did. The speakers are held in by four screws so just unscrew the factory speakers and screw your new ones in. If you don't have the premium Pioneer system you can use Scosche 142SAT6 rings.

BTW, this thread might clear up some questions you have about installing speakers in the HHR.

And thanks to SoCalHHR for the info on the Scosche rings.

I do not have the premium speaker system. I want to use a bracket that would not require me to drill any holes in the door. It would be nice if I could get a hold of some of the premium speaker brackets or something that would attach to the door like it.

My mod. on the speakers..
was a bit different..
I did a cut out of the grill on the door..
So the AudioBanns could still out a bit and I could utilize their mesh screen cover.
I used approx. 1 1/2 inch composite spacers to stand off the speakers from the door frame...
my 0.02 ( oooppss another mod slipped out..)
