Speaker wiring
I keep forgeting to ask this. How have you guys (and gals) been wiring your door speakers with moderate amplifiers? In my case, I have a 280 watt RMS (70 watts per speaker) system. As you all know, our door speakers are connected via buss connectors/wires. Are you using the factory wires, or running new ones?
Personally, I have all of my connections going to the wire that used to plug into my premium package amplifier in the back. My amps all run 14 gauge wire there, then I connected my wires to the factory ones. I just finished running 2 new 14 gauge wires to the front A-pillars to be used for my new component tweeters. I will install the crossover in the back, and run the new tweeters and the factory door speakers to them.
Am I safe???

Thanks for the reply. I keep meaning to check the wires to see if they feel hot after cranking the music, but when I get home I forget to do it.
Right now, I am going down to replace my ancient Rockford Fosgate's with new Polk speakers. Cant wait Will also add more Dynamat Extreme to the doors. Already have it inside the door, now want to add a layer between the door panal and the metal door. (Need to use up the last couple of sheets.)
