yea i was too...but i said what the hell...and i jumped right in....once i started cutting....i said there's no turning back! the only real cutting that i had to do was behind the head unit for the wires and radio to fit nice and easy. had to do the same on my 01 tarurus that i used to have, except, the taurus had metal.

1. How much have you been investing in your total stereo?
2200 complete but I change my sub about 2 weeks ago 100.00

2. Do you do your own installs?
Me and my buddy did my install mostly him

3. What brand equipment are you buying?
Pioneer Avic Z1, rearveiw cam, xm nav traffic, bluetooth, and remote, Alpine 4x100 pdx and 2x150 bridged for the sub, focal front and rear speakers and a fosgate P3 shallow mount 10" sub

4. How much are you paying for the kits to install the head unit?
When I did my install they did not have a double din kit for the hhr so we modified a dd kit from a Malibu or impala don't remember. I also had my factory steering wheel controls operate my head unit.

5. How much better is the overall sound quality afterwards?
A 1000% better

I want to build a box that will fill the entire cargo section and still be removable should I need to. It probably will be flat on top and downfire all three subs. Maybe though on the other hand, two downfire and one angled up towards the passengers. Decisions decisions.

LCD unit

I installed my LCD DVD/MP3/CD aftermarket headunit! I'll take pictures and show you guys as soon as I can.

I am done, but I forgot to wire the break wire. I didn't realize that I had to put the break wire with the ground in order to watch dvd while driving (not that I am going to)...but you guys think you can use the toggle switch for where the fog lights are supposed to go as a break wire toggle switch instead? just an idea if anyone out there used that spot for anything other than the foglight (my HHR doesn't have foglights)...anyone have any ideas...

1. $10,000 +
2. Yes, 100% myself
3. sponsored by T3 Audio, Hifonics, Kinetik Audio, Hooker Audio, Second Skin, RazorLite, and Kenwood
4. Make my own dash pieces.
5. 10 million times better.

My car is my daily car but also a demo/competition car so I go overboard with everything, and it is definitely worth it.

Currently have 5 sets t# audio TS 6.5" components powered by Hifonics Zues amps.
3) 12" T3 Audio TSS subs, powered by 3) Hifonics XXV Goliath 5000s

All run from 8) Kinetik audio HC2400 batteries.

$10k, are you serious!!! whoaw...do you spend more time in your car than anywhere else (like say your place of abode). is it hard to make your own dash pieces and what is the process like? how do you make the plastic casts and molds. you must have your own shop...???
