I thought at first coax because the ant really doesn't have anything to it...how can it go bad, its just metal, no load. thought it may have been corroded on the inside from winter salts....weird....time for something new anyways....maybe a fishin pole....or a violin

I hear ya.. The wifes ride is an 08 Dodge Avenger SXT, it has a black 7" rubber stubby from factory in back of roof.

I tried hers & it's a perfect fit on my antenna base. Reception for FM was very good also (I checked)
Saw a seller on ebay selling then (nos)..

Just a thought..

I pulled mine off and cut off 5", it's fiberglass with a copper wire wrap, not metal.
