stubby antenna
I know there may be a thread out there that touches on some of these points, but I haven't seen one in a while and there may be new members and/or new installations.
I am thinking about going with a "stubby" radio antenna, but don't want to give up AM or FM reception (by much), I just wondered what brand you all have, and if you are happy with it? Does it help or hurt your reception?
My goal is to get a low profile antenna that doesn't wobble around at high speed, and can go through a car wash (I know, I should hand wash, but someday.... in the winter), also don't want to sacrifice reception.

Another thing to think about is your location to radio stations and their strength. Having great reception in one area does not mean all areas. Before my recent move, I considered one. But now that I have moved, glad I didn't.
Try pulling the mast off and see if you stations still come in ok. If they do, a stubby won't be a problem.

I get it now jx3, that was your paint reflecting on the antenna.
solman98, I already have problems with some of the stations I listen to. There are some days that they are so bad that I can hardly get them in at all. I know that changing antenna length may hurt some, but could potentially help others.
It seems like there are a lot of brands out there and I was looking for feedback from those that have tried.

I found, after trying 2 different types, that it all depends on signal strength and the lay of the land. It is very hilly here, and I had to go back to the stock
antenna for any kind of reception. Not that the stock reception is all that great anyway.
The dealer said...."Oh Well, it is what it is"....

That's what I was afraid of.... People that live in urban areas can stick just about anything on and still get reception, I am kinda in a fringe area and fear that anything smaller may greatly reduce my reception.
I have a sunroof and notice the factory one wobbling a lot at high speeds. Maybe I should just slow down
