I love the clean looks of the stubby antennas, but I also love my radio reception. Do the "little" ones have decent reception compared to the ugly factory ones? I'm suspecting not, but don't know. Would love to hear from those who have the "stubbys" installed.

got one that will extend if needed, at stubbyantenna.com haven't needed to pull it out yet, works fine stubby.

Could still pick up 97.3 Coast well past Jupiter (city, not planet for those who don't know the area), as well as receive 97.9 WRMF in Kendall.

What kind of range would that be from the station antenna (not station city) to that location?

97.3 Coast broadcasts from Miami Gardens, which gives at least 100 mile range when station starts fading at Port St Lucie.

Depends a lot on radio station signal strength/output and land contours between radio antenna and station antenna.

Where I live the shorties don't do well.

True, but I live in similar terrain and it is easy to get output power of transmissions.

To the OP: Sounds like jx's antenna is a pretty decent one!

Only caveat...........

The universal mounting screw needed to be cut for a flush mount. Here's what it looked like before trimming of screw........
