Subwoofer in a Panel.

Subwoofer in a Panel.
Hello all,
This is my first post and hopefully some light will be shed on my topic.
I have a 2011 panel that I want to put a sub in. I got the panel for the space (and mean look!) and don't want or need an elaborate system or giant box taking up all my nice open cargo area. I was thinking of using a "behind the seat" style box behind the passenger seat.
Has anyone else with a panel found another way to get a sub in without affecting the cargo space? I suppose I could give up one of the bins for a custom box but I'm not sure about that.
Any help would or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Build one where the factory box would be.
This is not my pic but it should help you. The top one is a foctory box and the bottom one is one a shop built if I am not mistaken. There is even more room behind the interior panel that can allow you to use more speakers like I will be doing one up for three Polk MM840dvc subs.

I don't know if i'm ready to pull apart the interior panels quite yet... Also I've heard, researching subs on this forum, that the stock setup isn't that great. I like what I see on Polk MM840dvc subs but it seems like a lot of work.

You can replace the stock sub with a higher power 8", but you would also want a higher power amp to match it. That means wiring too.
You could just wire up an amp to the stock sub and see how much it will take. The factory amp is the weakest link I think, only puts about 40w to the sub.
I know one panel owner that built the system into the storage bins, works pretty well. His forum name is pyro panel.

I looked all over for a truck "wedge" box to go behind the passenger seat. Kicker makes a 10" sub with "truck" box that just BARELY fits... Its very snug on the sides and I moved the passenger seat up one click, just to be safe. All the other brands were WAY too big. The result is a neatly tucked away 10" that hits pretty hard and keeps my cargo area clean.
Thanks for the help
