Various HHR Sub Installs...

Stick-very true. That is one reason to buy from a store with a liberal refund/return policy. Crutchfield is GREAT on that, even sending prepaid return UPS labels. I tried several subs until I got one that met my approval.
And also remember that tuning the system is also very important. Several times I tried components that at first sounded like crap until I tweaked the settings. Even now, if my head unit has so many different variables that it takes me a while to get it sounding good after the battery is disconnected.

Good advise. I usually do, along with the different station presets. The problem I had recently was that I brought my car in for some simple warranty work (nothing electrical) and did not anticipate the dealer disconnecting my battery. But this stupid radio has SO many different settings and variables (10 band eq, slopes, cutoffs for front, rear, and sub), concert simulation in ranges, etc etc etc) that I am always experimenting. I just read about a meter that measures different frequencies and am considering getting one. It is generally used for home audio, but it could be useful in a car.
