FUDGE! Keep working on it. You're bound to find the culprit

I just want a harness that doesnt need rewiring..i dont care about chimes...I rewired the ebay harness but I know somehtings not right...I have the Pioneer 6800 deck and I cant shut off my sub from the HU which I should be able to do and I always hear a pop in the sub when I accellerate or shift from park to reverse or vice versa. I dunno..

I hear the noise you're talkin about when I shift from park to rear or drive but that's electrical interference from the door locks that is picked up by the stereo wires.

I don't hear anything when I accellerate and I'm guessing that's engine whine/interference being picked up by your RCA's or speaker wires. Where did you route your wires?

What do you mean by shutting off the sub form the HU? Don't quite get that one. Do you mean adjust the bass output from the HU?

the pioneer HUs should have a "remote" wire that you will need to connect to the amps to turn them on/off whenever you power the HU up.

Well I have not heard back on the metra LAN as far as price or availibilty but here is the response I got back from one of there reps

I assume what you would like to know is if everything worked like the factory radio. That would be a yes, depending on what was installed with your factory radio. We do not have accessories like steering wheel interfaces and factory XM retention devices, but your Chimes, RAP feature, optional Onstar and factory turn signal noise generator (with an optional relay), will work. If you have a factory amplifier use GMOS-LAN-04.

Hope this is of some help

Bad side = front half of the drivers side & the passengers side cargo area. Tha'ts where I saw the HHR's battery cable running.

So you have an option to tun off the sub Must be a Pioneer thing...

How did you ground the head unit? To the stock OEM harness ground wire or other? I moved mine from the factory harness to the nut next to fuse #21 to ground the Alpine. Check it out...
