I still don't have the box but should this week. At that point I will incorporate the installation of it with Phase III of my system. As soon as I have results I will post!

alpine 9855 you can turn the sub off. there are a couple of optons, i have the amp set to when you turn the sub to 00 you hardly get any bass, sounds about stock in the cabin, but with a little more bass, great for when the baby is in the car. with it at 15 i will bounce your eyeballs. or i can go under the menu settings and completly turn the sub off. i think it is under the audio setting then sub settings. i also have 2 different sub settings, one that is volume controlled, as in subs are turned up with volume of music to blend nicely, or the other one is full bass, crazy amounts of bass no matter what the volume is. i switch back in forth depending on the music and mood of boom.

I've got the 56 and it sounds like they are the same. Except I have the remote bass knob hooked up to my amp. I have the subwoofer/bass on the head unit set at 15 and the BBE set for eyeball bouncing bass But I'll lower it with my remote bass knob depending on the music.

OK, I had the box installed today and an Eclipse AVN-6600 NAV/CD/DVD. The box works! Chimes are back and most important to me, a power source off ACC. The signal ticker doesn't work which is surprising. I am going to email Soundgate on that one.

The AVN is awesome, great Ipod interface, sounds, fits and looks great(double DIN).

Talked to Soundgate today, they pointed out that the installation instructions call for a 12v relay to be installed for the signal click. I my tech is not working today, but I will bet that he did't install one. I will check with him tomorrow!

Yup, he didn't read the instructions, no relay was installed. I am bringing the car back for more work next week, so I will have it installed then.

FYI with the new Soundgate installed, my steering wheel controls work 100% perfect because they are now drawing stable voltage from the soundgate.

I am very happy with this box! Now there is absolutely no reason not to upgrade your sound system!
