Right now, mine is mounted to the passenger side of the center console with the extended arm and the 3m pad. It will get replaced with a VSM mount eventually. I do like your location, but don't necessarily want to have to look down at the display. I may go in a different direction though once there are harnesses that work with the HHR completely and go aftermarket like I did with the wife's Explorer.

Aw, come on, let's comment - everyone else, including the State legislature and Congress is commenting like hell!

My favorite thing to do is to walk around the greater Phoenix area with my t-shirt that reads: "English was my second language, and I can read it, speak it, and write it better than you!"

I have had this problem for weeks. I tried calling them and having them "restart". I went to the website and did it from there several times. It still said "Updating". The channels I do get have changes a few times. Right now, it is only two, other than the XM company channels. I am paid up for two years, but am considering cancelling my service. I will try to call them once more. At least the factory-installed XM Radio should be covered under the warantee.

When you do a refresh, you have to make sure the vehicle is outside and ther radio is on, so that the the refresh signal can be received.

I called XM yesterday (4/6/08). The first two people we spoke to (my son wound up doing the talking, as I was very annoyed and emotional and he was able to remain pleasant and business-like) were no help and seemed content to have me cancel the service. The cancellation department rep was very helpful. At the end of the day, my XM service was restored.
If you have to deal with these people, ask for a manager (but be prepared for a long wait for someone to get to you). If you get nowhere, speak to the cancellation department. Also be prepared for a long time on hold. If you can stay pleasant, your chances of being helped are much greater.
