OK us11csalyer, what you have here in legal terms is a "Scrivener's Error", basically a clerical error as defined in legal terms. More specifically....

"A scriveners’ error is a term long used in the law to minimize the impact of a drafting mistake. The concept is that the scrivener, a person performing the ministerial function of transcribing text, simply gets it wrong and misspells a word, leaves something out, or puts something in that shouldn't be there."

Since retrofitting ABS to the vehicle is a practical impossibility for all intents and purposes, and assuming its a classic scrivener's error, you could try to file a claim in "small claims" court for the difference in price between an HHR equipped with ABS and one not so equipped.

That's about it really, you might bring it to the attention of the dealer and request a refund of some of the purchase price, or free maintenance for a specified period if the presumed presence of ABS was your primary reason for selecting the vehicle in question.

Your friendly Southern lawyer signing off..

It doesn't come with ABS according to the sticker in the glove box. Main reason I asked is I am only at 51,xxx miles and would be using the extended warranty.

On my 08 2LT, ABS code is JM4 - 4 wheel Anti-Lock Brake System

Just sayin..

& I believe starting in the '09 or '10 model year, ABS was Standard on all HHRs'..

well couldn't you pull the ABS fuse and if you have ABS it should throw a light on the dash? or look for the ABS module on the vehicle to verify a typo in the glove box?

Or look for the ABS sensors on the front hubs. I'm not sure of the possibility of a typo on the glove box sheet. Remember, this vehicle was purchsed used and the listing was from the dealer not the factory if I read that right. So it's more likely that the 'typo' or, more accurately, misinformation lies therein.
