And we all think that cold, dry suspension creaks are limited to the HHR, right? I don't think so. I have experienced them on my Chevy pickup and my Ford E450 motorhome as well. Cold and dry is not kind to any vehicle suspension.

I think some people have gas problems and don;t know it... and when its cold and everything is searching for warmth....things tighten up.....and...and...you now the rest

hey, this thread is a real relief!
i thought i had a "real" problem with suspension. something expensive, perhaps.
it is irritating, though.

i kinda just noticed, too, that it was only really cold weather that made it squeek and knock. it's fine in warmer weather.

Thumbs up Bushing Squeak

I'm glad I found this thread because the noise is awful, "just like a tire rubbing". About a month ago I had the left front sway bar bushing replaced. The noise comes from the left front, problem identified. Now if someone could point out where we can get the greaseable bushings or post a How To and pictures. I'm at 34,500 miles and getting ready to drop it off for a final under warranty fix up. If anyone has any "must be fixed" problem areas on the 08 Panels, that I should be sure to inspect please drop me a line.

Yes Car 11 has the front end squeak too when cold. So I smothered the front end with Crisco and it went away.

You aren't alone, my 08 SS does the same thing. Just rolled over 60000km on it.

Though weirdly enough a friends wife's LT is getting the same noise managed to get a new steering column, stabilizer bar and bushings under warranty. Don't think it will make a difference though.

Like so many, I have found that my 08 2LT makes rattles and squeaks when temperatures drop. For some reason the suspension crunching is quiet these days--don't know why, but I get a lot of noise from the headliner area. Under warranty, the headliner was replace last summer, but it's as noisy as ever. Any suggestions how to quiet the noises? Are there strategic areas I can spray silicone or something to quiet everything down? The car has been very reliable. No complaints. But all the rattles and squeaks, good grief.

For the headliner, Im thinking of using doublesided carpet tape as the GM tape doesnt seem to hold up.
