Cutting rear springs to lower??

Hey guys, how's everyone doing? I have not been on here in a while, I give my son my 2LT for graduation and have recently purchased another 1LT. I did everything the right way on the first one with new springs and such but this one I just want to lower the rear to level it out and I just happen to have an xtra set of stock springs. What if I was to cut them to lower the rear, what would it hurt, I can't see that it would make a difference but I'm no expert. So if it is ok.. Does anyone here know about how much I should cut? Would I just determine what I need ..say an 1.5" and just measure from the seat of the coil to where an 1.5" would land on a coil? Thanks for any help, I know how easy this rear spring swap is, that's why I figured I could try it and if it did not work out just throw the old ones back on.

Hey Stranger-

Look closely at the xtra rear springs, they coil up tight on each end (like a bee-hive) to fit right. Cutting them will lose their ability to fit properly.

Here's a pic of a front and a rear spring(L-R). Not sure how you could cut down the rear ones. If you cut out the taper on one end, it wouldn't sit in the perch correctly.

Thanks for the info guys, I have been researching since I posted this and found out I was looking at the wrong springs for the rear. That's a bummer! I thought I had a quick and inexpensive fix planned, oh well new ones won't be too bad.
