Drum to disc rear

I have read the thread about changing to rear disc from drum and upgrading the front to larger brakes. Is this cost effective? Is it worth it in the long run? I love 4 wheel disc, but I don't want to put tons of money out there on this if it isn't going to pay for itself in performance in the daily world. I am looking to make changings in the brakes/suspension area that will net real world, seat of the pants gains that won't brake the bank.

I love the look of this vehicle and would like to do some mods to it that will make it a better overall vehicle to drive. It is a '08 HHR, 1LT, that I just purchased a week ago with 28400 original miles on it. Starting the mod list and would like to do stuff that will make a handling, driving, and appearance put a smile on the face of the other half. Cause when she is happy, I will be happy. If she likes the looks and the drive, she will stay away from my car.

the larger front brakes I can see as an advantage, but rear discs I don't see the daily driver bang for the buck, it is your decision

Yeah, rear discs are high maintenance and more expense, and performance difference is negligible on the road.

Honestly, unless you're driving at 10/10ths, converting to rear discs is money wasted.

Your money would be better spent on uprated tires, suspension components, and possibly a Trifecta Tune.
