Goldline squeekin remedies?

Any one know how to cure the goldline squeekin? heard bout it and i was bout to put my GL's on later in the week, i wanted to know if anyone found a way to resolve it before the install. I was thinkin maybe some one could post pics of the problem area's on the spring and i was thinking of fittin a rubber hose around the coil to silence it. Was the problem with just the back or was there issues in the front too?

Any info would help.
Thanks.

When installing my rear Goldline Leveling springs, I installed the smaller tighter coils closer to the bottom (ground) and the larger wider coils near the top since I noticed a lot of the binding problems seems to be with the larger coils intalled near the bottom.

I have been driving with them for nearly 1 year and no rub or binding of the coils at all. Quiet as can be.

Not sure if that is helping or I am just lucky but thought I'd mention that install method works great for me.

I purchased the Honda spring silencers goldline listed as a fix for the problem. Couple of dollars from the dealership. Same idea as a rubber hose I guess. These were molded with a curve so I think they may stay on a little better. Fixed the problem.

I know another HHR owner other than myself who also tried the same method with the larger coils on top when installing as I did and last I know, he has had no problems / thumping or squeeking either. Just a smooth level quiet ride...

I'll check with him again at our upcoming Gateway HHR cruises to see how his ride is after this last year.

I installed mine the way the old ones were, with the larger coils to the bottom and i have a little squeaking. nothing major. but thats a great idea to install them upside down, if that fixes the problem i can see alot of us doing that this weekend... LOL

Anyone ever try to contact Goldline and ask them about installing with large coils at top? Just curious.

There are a number of threads on this matter about the noise. Usually it on the 2.4's. Gold line and Truck Shop tried a few different things. The HHR they were using did not have the noise.
