Finally got the HHR i wanted. 2010 gorgeous red mettalic. One of the nicest paint jobs i've ever seen out of Detroit or wherever this was made!! That was my trade for 12 years, body and fender!!

Spent 20 mins looking for something that spoke to the isssues I experienced this PM. As is was leaving my indoor shooting range, suddenly got vibration and noise from front brakes. HERES THE KICKER, also got FLASHING TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS!! It happened 3 times, i eased home. Wife and i talked, as much as i hate dealerships went and talked to them. They wanted $120.00 to tell me why there product couldn't make it to 40K without problems.

Took keys and left, driving 3 miles home at 45 mph without issue!!! Got any input!!! THE FLASHING TRACTION CONTROL IS the singular detail at this time for me???

 

I love that color. There should be a trouble code stored in there to help find the problem. Unfortunately you need a fairly good scan tool to read them. The inexpensive obd2 code readers probably won't read the traction control codes.

Check your front brake pads, brake fluid level and rear brake adjustment.

I am betting that your pads are worn out due to the rears being un adjusted and causing the fluid to be low.

 

That panel is sharp!!! Are those 17 wheels on your ride?? Those are the only other wheels i considered, they are SHARP!! Thanks for the quick response!!! Wish we had the Gadsden stickers that would be sweeeeeet!!!!!

 

So the Caddys are going to be made in China and the HHR's are coming from Mexico!! Powerful help for our economy. Wonder that is working for the UNIONS?????

 

Well it's NOT low on brake fluid. Matter of fact it is near if not at the high! The color is dark brown though. Can't get a wheel off at the moment. There doesn't appear to be any inordinate wear on the rotors. No grooves, chatter or any thing i could feel on either side of left and right discs!!! There does NOT appear to be a lot of pad left, but certainly no metal to metal contact yet!!! Maybe i can get a wheel off tomorrow. Will let you know what i find. I do have calipers since i am a machinist!!!

 

My buddy at work gave me his old obd2 scanner precisely for that reason. He then bought one that does anti-lock brakes as well. He'll probably let me use it!!

 

Do you think a grill made of polished aluminum with little bow ties for ventilation (maybe 1.25-1.5long) would look good? We have a water-jet and a laser at work. Let me know what you think about that one if you would please?? Maybe i could use you guys as a beta test????

 

Thanks. Yes they are 17 they are the standard wheel for the 08 2lt. I picked op a sec set off of cregslist cheep for my winter tires. There seems to be lots of them out there.

 

Mine was doing the same thing. Autozone will read the codes free....mine turned out to be a bearing hub sensor. Fortunately I had just had the hubs replaced so they were under warranty.

Nice color.....I'm a little partial to it too.

BTW Lucky....I think I saw you a few days ago going down High Street. Can't be more than one red panel in Wadsworth.
