Hi everyone,
New to the site! Picked up a 2008 HHR SS and love the thing. Put a 20" wheel combo on it and im wanting an aggressive drop. I saw the Goldline set advertised a 1.75, 2.125 drop so i went to place my order. The salesman told me that if I dropped an SS with this spring set, it would be inferior to the stock springs this thing has and would also only give around a 1" drop all the way around. Why would that be, IF that's accurate?
Sooooo, I thought I would you guys/gals if you know what brand would give me the true drop im looking for....
Any help would be appreciated! And Im happy to be a new member of your site

The SS suspension was tuned to the car and tested at Nurburgring.........I would not consider changing the stock SS suspension system! Best handling car I ever owned!

 

Yeah, i have a Z06 and this thing seems to be able to put up a good fight against it, in the corners. Ive lowered my Supras and some other performance cars in the past and they actually handled better than stock. I was really hoping for the same here
I just am curious if anyone had done it already and what brand they used to get that aggressive drop...if it doesnt work out well, ill put it back:)
Im a dragracer so hope it does't kill the launch. PLUS, i hope to post dyno sheets for you guys as i ad the performance goodies:)

The reason the Goldline spring would only drop your SS 1" is because they're already lower that non-SS HHR's. Someone could take a non-SS and put your factory springs on their's and it would give it roughly a 1" drop

 

Only springs I have heard of giving better performance to a SS are the Pedders coilovers and possibly springs.

Ummm, just checked out Pedders coilovers. If I win the lottery, i'll pick some up....geez.
I got them for my Supra and the Z06 cheaper than those! The thing handles just fine as it is
