I would make 2 trips. I had 745 pounds distibuted in the back to allow transfer to the front as well. I would say this is close to max for safe driving. The next time I intend on making 2 trips.

I'd have bet it would break the rear tray and the seat backs loading that kind of weight on top of plastic parts. God Bless, Marc

Lots of reasons that I decided not to try it...mostly because it was sooo much easier to load the truck. I'd have worried myself sick just loading the HHR, trying not to scratch, dent, knick or otherwise deface my own ride. With the truck I borrowed, it's drop the tailgate, lug stuff inside and roll out. The overall weight that I was planning on putting in was just too much for me to feel comfortable with trying.
