KYB vs MONROE rear shocks

KYB vs MONROE rear shocks

for a 2006 HHR LT, would you suggest either MONROE sensa-tracs or KYB GR2 excel-9 shocks. the HHR is a daily driver..thanks

I put Monroe's on mine all around. They seem fine on my daily driver.

I put KYB's on mine. Probably 40K on them and still digging them. The last set of Monroe's I installed on a different car did not last very long.

Monroe to me went the same way as Fram filters..had a market once upon a time but..no more.

popping on kyb excel-g rear shocks tomorrow on my 2006 hhr lt to replace the monroe's that i've had on for a few years.............we'll see.

kyb's on to replace the monroes that i had on for bout 2 years.....test drive tomorrow. inly thing that i had to do was slightly spread the upper shock mount since the kyb's had a slightly longer bolt bushing......not a problem, though

do you have lowering coils on your HHR? or stock springs, and just doing a stock replacement shock..

I replaced my stock rear shocks about a year or so ago with Monroes as one was starting to leak, and the rear was getting pretty bouncy/sloppy. The Monroes firmed things up a bit - but not that much. At least they didn't leak!! That reminds me, I should check them for leaking soon. But heck, it's just a daily driver.

I think they definitely follow that adage that "you get what you pay for".
