Press or hammer out the old bushing!
You show pressing in the new bushing in the same direction as pushing out the old bushing. The only taper is on the new bushing? No taper in the control arm hole? Also, you mention using a screw press. Is there an issue with using a hydraulic press?

if the front bushing needs replacing, any recommendations on removing and installing a new one?

No issue with the press, I own a screw press , sold my 20 ton shop hydraulic press , years ago.
The bushing is none directional, the LCA is non directional. There is a taper on the bushing , but not in one side , but both.
I just pressed a set of control arms, this time I installed FE5 bushings, no rubber hinge in the bushings, just a solid rubber bushing.
I’ll locate the invoice and get the part number.
