Power Slot rotors anyone?

I'm wanting to upgrade my brakes to better rotors and pads. I've used Powerslot's on other cars with good success. Anyone here running them? What's about pads? I'm a big fan of Hawk's.

Not so sure thats an upgrade.. unless your going to a larger rotor, taking metal away by means of holes and slots does nothing for performance, your reducing the braking area and taking away heat transfer...to upgrade you'll need better calipers and good pads, I don't know if anbody makes a larger hat rotor.....

Im heavy on brakes- and rotors (slotted and drilled) with ceramic pads, are awesome. They stop well and last longer. Thats my experience.

My company sells nearly every performance brake company on the market.

If you want the best brakes go with just regular rotors unless you want the look as like stated the holes, dimples and slots add nothing to performance and are only cosmetic.

The best pads right now are red EBC. Hawk is also good.

When I replace mine I will put on Bendix solid rotors and EBC red pads.

There is a purpose for the slots and that is to keep a clean contact surface for the pads. I agree about the dimpled or holes being useless but don't feel the same towards the slots.

Well the slot cleaning away mud and water is a small side effect. The original intent was just for looks with out drilling holes. Doe the most your brakes self clean quickly even without the slots.

At least that is what the head of EBC brakes told me. He stated they only sell these kinds of rotors because people want them looks and they make more money on them nothing more.

R1 concept drilled rotors

I "upgraded"to drilled R1 rotors. They warped quicker than the originals. R1 will not respond to me. Don't do what I did.

The cleaning I was referring to was the buildup of brake dust. I still disagree with it being only cosmetic. They also came stock on my SRT Challenger with the Brembos. I've installed them along with Hawk pads on other cars and saw the improvement.

thats because of the pads...all I can say is go research it..if they were so good racers would be using them,,,make that real race cars...they use drilled rotors for weight purposes only..and those rotors are WAY oversized to start with so then can stand to lose some surface area and weight....street cars cannot..

You are disagreeing with me but the truth from the honest MFG that sell them Most will tell you all the enhancements are nothing cosmetic. Any that claim other wise are false advertising or are using something that is border line like cleaning water away.

I own a set myself on my GTP. They make no differance.

This topic goes back to the old saying a lie is not a lie if you get enough people to believe.

The truth is like stated they drilled holes in them to remove unsprung weight. Also the old pads from years ago did give off more gasses but they no longer do that.

Factory cars only have them for looks. If they imnporved things that much by drilling or dimpling holes ever car would have them. It cost so little to make them all like this.

There is nothing wrong to buy them if you like the look but do not fool yourself that there is any improvment in the performance.
