Power Slot rotors anyone?

Why all the fuss about slotted-drilled rotors?
Truth is: race cars use slotted rotors for less weight, and it helps a little on the cooling, nothing more, nothing less.
Race cars can change them out, after every race, and after they are used up.
For street cars, it all about the looks, and does'nt help with the weight, cooling, pad life, ect. Not practical for street cars to change out every week.
You pay for the look, and nothing more.
Granted they do look racey, but I'll keep my stock ones, thank you very much. "Moon"

As for the castings there are some who feel they need to be seasoned. No they don't need galic.
Some poeple and MFG claim that the rotors need to be heated up with proper temps to get the metal to set right to provide better service and strenght.
I have also seen this with engine blocks and heads. Rolls Royce use to make a big deal out of seasoned blocks.
I never really saw much differance in this but even the experts do not agree on this one. I think in the past with poor materials it may have made a difference but with todays better metals it may be less a factor. Metalology has come a long way since the old days.

That is just it not all are done right. Most are but not all and it does not matter where it was made to how good or bad. Just who made to what spec.

Went thru this on my truck with Wagner while I worker t OReilly's....they offered 2 types, the white box which is the economy brand( (I was in school so budget was in full force) and the fancy box which are the good ones...BTW,white box specials were all made in china and you can SEE the difference in just the metal coloration on the machined surfaces..the china ones were a grey color while the good ones were nice and machined shiny!
