You can swap in a rear axle from a Cobalt/HHR SS.

If you can find an ION or G5 equipped with a disc brake rear axle, sure. No Buick has been built on the Delta platform, though. You can always order the parts through the dealer like hvrod did.

This is what HVrod said when i asked him bout it......

all parts from the GM dealer.. roughly about $1300-00 in all parts. One major part/s that you need is the adapter fittings for rerouting of the brake lines.. and the new lines.

What about the hydraulic pressure in the lines, would there have to be any valve changes for output from the master cylinder??

Prices I stated were for all new GM parts....
You need an axle, emergency brake cables, disc, pads, calipers, new brake lines and fittings, dust shields..

The harness adapted to the new axle great, even with the ABS sensor...
(again this way you are using all GM parts mainly)..

There are kits by other vendors for approx. the same price.. but you do get 2 - 4 piston calipers and have to use 17inch min. wheels with theres...

I'm using 16inch rims/tires with my setup...

Hydraulic pressure is fine...

Heres some pics to renew your interests...
