Rears breaks locked up
#3
That's a new one. Was the park brake on before you started the vehicle? How long had it been sitting? What was the weather like in Ohio when it happened? Did you recently have an oil change done? Did they add fluid as part of the service?

It was in the garage and hadn't sat long at all. A few hours at most. The parking brake was on prior to starting the vehicle. I released the brake, then shifted into reverse. The weather was clear, dry and in the 70's. I just bought the HHR 2 weeks ago and assume that the oil had just been changed. According to the spedometer/oil change sticker it was less than 100 miles since last service. It only has 30,000 miles total. I checked all the fluids and everything are where they should be. Any ideas?

I had a locked driver side rear caliper (SS) replaced under warranty for locking up.
The parking brake handle was very loose. So it never released...
Later I replaced the pads and noticed the pistons are pretty small for the rear.
