Yeah, thanks for the links. I hope the eye id is right, the shortest one looks perfect. Should be stiff enough as well, since they're for trucks. Too bad they're not adjustable though.

Which springs are you putting these on? I have gl's all around and would like to change shocks and struts, I looked at theses links and am not sure what to look at.

If you want better struts/shocks now, you'll have to get Koni's, but they're over $500 for a full set. If you're not having problems with the rear springs, then there is supposed to be at least one company (KYB) working on struts and shocks specifically for HHR's, which should be much cheaper than Koni.

no problems at all, just knowing that the future brings some new shocks/struts and am trying to get some knowledge ahed of time so I know what I am looking for. coilovers would kick ass, but since I already have the springs I thought these might be a good solution..

I have been lax and not followed up, but on Monday when I had my new Firestone Tripletred tires installed, I was reminded that I have to do something about the levelling springs falling out.

I took a quick measurement, and believe that if the shock extends to 15.5 inches, it would hold the spring in place. But, since I didnt remove the shock, I do not know what the compressed length is. Has anybody gotten shorter shocks to use? What about using limiting straps like they do for off road vehicles?

I did a search and found that 15 inch is available, but am concerned because they stretch. Some of information I read said that they can be mounted with the same shock bolts. They actually look like seatbelts. AND, are only about 24 bucks a pair. It is snowing here, but I want to look under the car to see if there is enough room/clearance for the straps.

Straps would probably be the easiest, but I think the shocks from djm would work if they take the same size bolts. I think I called them, but I forgot what size bolts they said they were for lol.

Scroll down a bit and check out the specs. I think either pn 1409 or 1509 would work for you depending on the collapsed length of the stock shock.(which I also forgot, should have written this stuff down)

Do our shocks use the standard size mounting holes? Are they loop on top and bottom? I cant check my car due to the snow.

Loop top and bottom, not sure about bolt sizes. The top and bottom are different sizes though.

Rather than having to pull a shock, I will try to get to my dealer and see if they have any in the parts department for me to measure. In order to find something shorter, I need to measure the top and bottom bolt hole, compressed length, and fully expanded length.
