In Some of the Past Post! There was a Couple of Members that Said the Front SS Sway Bar was Smaller in DIA. than the Sport Bar but was Designed to Compliment the "TOTAL" FE5 Suspension Package ! Anyone is More than Welcome to Measure the Sport Bar and Compare it to the SS or FE5 Bar DIA. for Comparison ! It Really Doesn't Effect Our HHR One way or the Other as My Suspension Upgrades are Complete ! A Tire and Wheel Package is Next for Us !

I also wanted to add that upon checking what it takes to change out the Front Bar it seemed that since our HHR is a "Dailey Driver" that the Sport Bar is adequate for most street applications wether it is Smaller, Larger or the Same DIA. !

There is more than one version of the FE5 package, maybe that's where the confusion is. There's either one or two for the LSJ (cobalt ss/sc) and an updated one for the LNF (cobalt and hhr ss/tc).

I agree though, unless you're doing more than daily driving, it's not really worth the money to change more than the struts.

KYB Excel G GR-2 are just factory replacements? Looks like I'll be saving up for FE5's...

Yes. Download the passenger car catalog from the link. They're the only thing available for both the cobalt and hhr.

Happy Holidays,
Besides the struts are any other parts required for installation?

Our installation included Eibach Pro Spring Kit, Front FE5 Struts, Rear FE5 Shocks and a Rear Progressive Sway Bar! That's It ! The FE5 is the SS Version! Also Our Sway Bar is a Progressive Mfg but since we installed it http://www.turbotechracing.com/ has there version which is very similar and 3mm thicker and is a HHR.Net Supporting vendor ! My personal opinion is this a Complete Suspension Upgrade that "ANY" Dailey Driver Owner would be satisfied with ! Anything else feel free to ask !

What are some of the handling characteristics with the redone suspension? Any less rebound?

If what everyone is saying about the KYB Struts being the same as OEM, KYB offers a set for the SS which are the same model number as the regular HHR. My point is that if you want SS strutson a regular HHR, the KYBs should be the equivilent of the FE5. Reading about the KYBs, the company says that it is OEM ride quality or better.
