I am betting you don't go from 70 to 0 in Texas than I do in DC 70,000 miles a year. Keep the rears adjusted and you should be OK, until your next brake job. 1 hard stop shouldn't do it, it's many with no assistance from the rear.

I was surprised to find that drivers in Albuquerque think "stop & go traffic" means having to stop at every other light on Menaul Blvd. On the I 95 from DC to Fredericksburg you go 0 to 70 to 0 probably every 2 miles at rush hour.

the "random orbit" pattern you are talking about is done on a Blanchard Grinder. no auto shop will have one of these machines in the back. can be done on a universal cylindrical grinder but who has on of them?
