Another option for the broken cage not a Ford mechanic told me they do is drill a hole in the floorboard to replace the cage nut. For those going this route to save extra holes - a 1” hole 2.5” below and 1” to the right of the bottom tack weld for this bracket


And
They fill the hole with a bushing but I used butyl tape and ss plate to cover the holes.
