Noise when going faster than 35 mph
My 2008 HHR has a loud noise that comes from the center to the right of the front of the car. We have replaced the motor mount (just because the engine had alot of movement when being reved) and we replaced the front hub (we took it to a local repair shop who indicated that the right/passenger tire had alot of movement to it so that needed to be fixed and that was causing the noise).
However, after all that it still is making the noise. The only other option we can think of is the tranny mount to replace (which is $100 for the part) or the CV joint.
The noise is a like a loud roar and is audible around 35 and when you get to around 65 is isn't so loud - but you can tell it isn't quite either.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
Thanks.

I replaced hubs last year due to one being bad. It still made the noise, I replaced the other. Still made noise. Replaced struts, replaced control arms. Still makes the noise. Had it looked at by two shops. The tires became cupped due to the worn parts and although the front end is now solid, its the tires that are making the noise. I need tires soon anyway, so we'll see what happens then. All I'm saying is that there a lot of things that can cause this type of humming/howling noise.
