Longer Trip (For me) - HHR SS

Did a 550 mile round trip this past weekend.

Very hilly highway in BC, with a ton a sharp turns.

Got 31.96 MPG on the way there (uphill), and got 34.91 MPG on the way back.

I was pretty happy with that, and I wasn't driving very nice either, buncha WOT runs to pass slow people and what not.

Based off of my trip home, would be 557 miles to a tank, and if I was on a nice flat highway would have been a lot higher.

2008 HHR SS Auto, Stage 1, Forge BPV, and a TTR Solid Upper Motor Mount.

Wow. Very nice numbers. I've done a couple short highway trips(200 milers) and checked them at 29.4 and 29.0, pencil/paper method. These were since the GMTU 2 months ago.
Before the upgrade, I was getting 27.5-28.5 on the same type of highway trips.

You must be running that, B.C. 94 Chevron that's the only time I got that kind of mileage.

Ha funny you say that.

Chevron 94 octane (zero ethanol) is the ONLY gas I have run in my HHR since I bought it 6 months ago

Meh, my SS is not so happy on California fuel. I'm running 2:1 91oct and 100oct. I'm not gonna get such good mileage with how much ethanol Cali puts in my fuel. If only I could find an ethanol free station here. Maybe I should just advance timing and enjoy the ethanol.

c-dub that is great to hear yet another person getting better gas mileage and more power out of the turbo upgrade.
The way gas prices are going up it may some day even pay for itself.
let see if I drive 1000 miles a month and get 27 mpg and I use 37 gallons of gas in a montha that costs $4.50 a gallon
that is $166.5 a month
now with the GMTU if I get 3 MPG more I would use 33.3 gallons of gas a month at $4.50 a gallon
that is a cost of $149.85 a month and a potential savings of $16.65 a month.
Darn I was hoping to se a bigger savings a month.
But that is still great making more hp and saving gas cant beat that .
Who knows I am half a sleep maybe my math is off I know I can save $250.00 a month guess I better order up the GMTU.

Don't know where you are located in California, but maybe this will help........

I'm near north Sacto. Nothing near me. Thank you anyway. I'll keep notes on the stations listed though. Who knows, I might find myself near one someday.
