Well not sure if I would call it free play but the other day while cleaning Ginger I noticed my lower grill was loose again,it's the homemade type using gutter screen and was loose on the bottom edge where you bend it around the internal lip. This has to be the 3rd time that I'm adjusting it in a month anyway I pushed up on the bottom of the bumper and there seems to be quite abit of movement at least 1/2 an inch. Is this normal ?

 

Yeah I was having almost the same problem. Got tired of re-installing so I used a suggestion from HvHHR......used cable ties that have a glue down base. You could hit it with a baseball bat and it wouldn't come loose.

 

When I did mine I took A clip from another screen and cut it in half and turned it around and clipped it on the bottom and clamped it down with a pair of needle nose pliers. Power washing it to clean and its still there.
