I haven't built any models myself in probably 30/35 Years. I don't think I'd have the patience to do that anymore, but I sure wish someone would come out with a diecast HHR in 1/18 scale. I thought for sure Maisto would have come out with one by now, but no dice!

I'd be happy to tackle a resin kit. I've made a few resin batmobiles. Even if you just made the body and indicated what currently available plastic kit to buy for chassis, seats, wheels, etc., that would be fine.

I was working on the same project as jeffs396 but i ruined my first attempt. Finally located a second Road Ripper to try again. My version will likely be a panel and have the running boards removed as well as the roof rack and side view mirrors. This is to make it easier for the mold release. Mine also will probably not have the windows opened.

Remember that regular model cement does not work with resin casting. Super glue or epoxy is the weapon of choice.

Well, been cutting & fitting parts on the two Road Ripper bodies (big thanks to Kevin (DLVRNIT) for the lead on the second RR!!!) Tedious work, but the only way to get this thing realistic!

Absolutely Doug! The following will be separate parts:

-bumper facias(front with fog lights or plugs)
-grille
-headlights
-"glass"
-roof rails
-door handles
-wipers(front & rear)
-mirrors
-taillights
-liftgate beauty bar
-running boards(or skirts or basic rockers)
-interior parts
-optional factory wheels
-exhaust tip
-even the bowties!(can leave off for that smooth, custom look!)
This way the builder can assemble the kit like their 1:1 HHR, or do it custom
