1 month ownership report
After one month and > 2000 km, I'm very pleased to report that my 2007 LS has surpassed my expectations in every way! It's running smooth as silk and I look forward to driving it every day.
I seem to average 8.1 litres/100 on my 80% highway daily commute. It looks like keeping it clean will be my greatest challenge. I bought some 17" wheels for it to replace the steelies in the summer; unfortunately I'll have to wait until next year to put them on, as I'm saving for some tires. I have a jug of 5W30 synthetic oil & filter on standby, as I'm going to switch to synthetic and do the oil changes myself.
I even found a nice hidden feature on it (yes, I actually found it in the manual): the back seats have these clips to run the seatbelts through so that kids don't end up with the seatbelts too high against their neck. Nice touch, my 5 & 8 year old daughters really appreciate it.
My wife and I are currently shopping to replace her 2003 Malibu, and nothing that we have seen or test driven so far has made me regret my purchase (Looking mainly at 4-cyl sedans, Elantra, Corolla, Cobalt, Ion, Focus, etc.). The HHR is not a good fit for her, as she's not confortable with the rearward visibility.
