1st Time HHR Drive in the Snow!!
Well we got out first snow here in South PA today, a few inches with below freezing temps all day. Gotta say the HHR drove pretty nice even on the stock 17 in. Firestones. Just be light on the gas on take off. Felt the traction control kick in a few times, it works pretty good, car felt pretty solid all the way home. Even coming down the 2000 ft. mountain I cross every work day.
Here she is parked after the drive.

Your HHR looks great in the snow!
The HHR has a great stance driving in the snow, doesn't it. It feels really stable.
I'm wondering whether or not having a rear anti-sway bar installed will yield a more stable (and safer) drive in winter driving conditions?

Not too many all season tires do that well in the heavy wet stuff...that is when you really need the winter tires....
I had a set of HydroEdges on my Matrix and the first storm we got I was out at Westover AFB..about 7 inches of powdery stuff....those tires ate right through it....next storm was about 4 inches of wet heavy stuff....friggin skating rink time!! I imagine HHR will be the same way...I was ok in this past storm on Monday...I do feel a bit uneasy though as the HHR "rides" bigger than the Matrix....I just have to drive a few times in the snow to get a solid feel

I've never had any issues with mine in the snow whatsoever and I live in Colorado. We got 3 feet of snow last year and once the streets were cleared of the bulk of it, I took mine out and never got stuck once. Even went thru snow that was higher than the running boards with no issues at all. I am running the stock 16's that came on the car and also have the anti sway bar. You've just got to take it easy at times and you should be fine. Handled well on ice too...went right by a PT Cruiser on an icy hill and waved as I went tooling on by. I do have a 5 speed though, as I feel more comfortable with a manual transmission in the Colorado climate.
Forgot to add the picture from last year.

btw...I hate snow(yeah why the hell am I living in NH for right? Good question) so I hope I'm not driving in too much of it this year...all it is good for is rotten traffic and car accidents....although I do get a good laugh seeing SUV's and idiots in 4x4 p/u trucks spun out in ditches...usually after the first storm.....Yeah you can sure get going on those snowy roads in 4 wheel drive...it is the stopping part that hurts!
Not to mention is that every day there is snow or it is cold out is 1 less day I could be on my CBR 600
I gotta get the hell out of here
