We had 13 inches of snow today.

I was out in it earlier today in the HHR. Got stuck twice and seemed to be all over the place. Of course I am running 1 year old all season tires.

It was rather surreal driving down the road and seeing nothing but white ahead of you...no cars, no trees, no road.

more than 6-7 inches will do you in...

I got stuck my first winter on the 16's. this the third winter on the 16's slide all over in the packed snow here.

Mine has been through its first snow today, it didn't do too bad. Downshifting is a major plus. No slushbox here(5spd).

I use the intermediate gear on the auto a bit more now. lol. Once you get going it is not too bad in the snow, take it easy and just keep moving. Of course my tires only have 12,000 kms on them too (stock 16's). I hope by next year to have dedicated winter tires, something like a 195 size.

Hi Gang,

My quick comparo of tires is this. My Vibe has four snows on steel wheels and my Rendezvous has four Dunlop Radial Rovers. Both are AWD and the tires have 10K miles on them. The Vibe absolutely kicks the RDVs hind end. NO comparison at all. My next vehicle will likely be FWD with Nokian snows for winter. I live 15 miles due east of Buffalo and work in the city. I cannot believe it took me all these years finally figure this out. Snow tires ROCK!

Best regards,
Mark

Stock all-seasons on mine. Tried and true in the crap nature dealt the Boston/So NH area this past Thursday. With Colorado and New England relaying positives, I'd say there's a good testimonial. Only thing for me was my driver's side wiper broke. Came loose from transmission even though I stopped to clear ice build up. Service done on it pretty quick the following day and was councelled to pop the hood to clear ice dams more efficiently. That sounds like a major PITA, but beats out driving along leaning into the passenger seat!
