Question 2.2 L Head Tolerance

Does anyone know the tolerance for flatness on the head for the 2.2L? I am curious at what point the head would be to warped to machine flat. I was given a number that just doesn't seem right to me. Thanks for your help.

Per the service manuals....

Surface Flatness - Transverse 0.030mm or 0.0012in

Surface Flatness - Longitudinal 0.050mm or 0.002in

Surface Flatness - Overall 0.1mm or 0.004in

Hope this helps.

johnbear. Is this the same car/problem you were asking about last month? If so did it finally reach the point of pulling the head? Just curious.

I'm thinking that may be the case George, we'll have to see what he says. There isn't a ton of meat on the heads to machine them anyway, the factory specs as you can see don't allow that much for out of tolerance in regards to flatness.
