Congrats! Hope it makes you happy, now start moddin!

Well, you're in the right place- my first mod was a stubby antenna- cheap, and makes a great visual difference. Don't forget to post pics in your car's color sub-forum!

2.4 impressions

I went from an 08 SS w/ 2.0L auto to a 09 2LT w/ the 2.4 auto.
I used 87 octane fuel in the SS and averaged 27 mpg over 48K miles. I continue to use 87 in the 2.4 with similar mpg results. The SS has the 2LT beat for fun and power, but the 2LT has plenty of pep for my 110 mile round trip commute.
Congrats on your selection!

Just turned 137k over the weekend. My 2.4L has only consumed 87 octane. About every 5k, I'll put in some injector cleaner. Not sure if that stuff does anything. In any case, the placebo effect sure feels good.

Get the 2.4

Well worth the money Old saying in motorsports.....

THERE'S NO REPLACEMENT FOR CUBIC DISPLACEMENT

New to this forum, but I like all the info on HHR's. Just picked up an 09' LT2 in Silver Ice Metalic. Love the car.

I like my LT2 with the 2.4. My wife has a last year Cavalier with the 2.2. I belive it is a bit quicker but the 2.2 is no slouch either.
However, if I had it to do again, I'd have gotten the SS with the 2.0 turbo. Those things RIP and get about as good a gas milage as the 2.4 with almost 80 more horses.

We traded in a 07 lt2 with the 2.2 for the 08 SS. The gas mileage was hardly any difference.............when driven like you have a lick of sence.
