2006 HHR badging question

I just bought a used 2006 2LT. So far love it. But I noticed one day that on the back lid there are no "HHR" or "LT" lettering? I know it's the 2LT because I have the option codes for my VIN and it's clearly stated as one of the options. Did all the 2006's have no badging on the back or is mine an odd ball? I don't mind it, just curious.

Someone either debadged it or it was painted and they didn't put them back on.

Your vehicle has been de-badged. It is actually becoming a rather common thing to take the lettering off the rear of vehicles... some folk think it looks tacky and gets in the way of washing/waxing.

I know I plan to remove the badging on mine as soon as I get a nice weekend to do so.

Thanks for the quick responses. The de-badging makes sense. I dont mind the cleaner look. But what looks tacky is the dealer's logo/name on the back. Anyone have any tips on removing these? I can't tell if it's a decal or painted from a stencil. Each letter is it's own sticker/piece. Didn't want to start picking at it.

Cool

I don't know of any dealer going to the trouble to "drill" and mount the logo....most likely just stuck on with tape.. Go see a bodyshop they can tell you.

You can usually take dealer badging off easily. Most dealers use a sticker or decal that will peel off. I typically remove the dealer badges from my vehicles the first time I wash it. Just gently raise one of the edges and tug until the thing comes off. The same method works for those tacky stick-on pinstripes too..

The dealership stickering on mine is not an actual block sticker, but seperate stickers for each letter. Would a hairdryer work on that type?

Mine were like that. Individual letters and a logo. I peeled them off prior to reading the hairdryer suggestion, but would assume that might help. Mine came of pretty easy, but a few did leave a little residue which came off with bug/tar remover.
