2006 Remote Start?
#12
LS-When I bought the car it just came with 1 key. I had to buy another key and program it. I was getting ready to have a remote start installed on it (had one on my 2001 Jeep cherokee-heaven!), when I found out some of these have them already!
Either way I need a remote entry b/c if you lock the doors and unlock only with the key, the alarm goes off until you put the key in the ignition. Sometimes that can be a little ambarrassing. ha

This is the info I got from a mechanic-what do you think?
Any HHR (LS, LT, SS) from ANY year that comes equipped with an automatic transmission also comes staqndard with remote start, factory installed, also covered by the 36/36 warranty. If it's not working, check the Driver Info Center, accessed through the buttons on the dast ("I" and an arrow, if I recall). push both of those for about 5 seconds to open the programmable features menu, then scroll through (using the info button) until you get to "remote start", then use the arrow button to set it to "on". If it still doesn't work, make sure the battery in the remote is good...from there, any Chevy dealer can look at it for you to get it working.

Look for the AP3 code in the glovebox like skyline suggested. But, if your car is a former rental company it most likely will have the remote start deleted from the factory.
Lastly, look in the owners manual for remote start particulars. If you don't have an owners manual, look here= https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/general-hhr-4/online-owners-manual-3074/
