2007 Premiere Edition VIN Numbers - Enter yours

OK everyone, here's a thread specific to the 2007 Premiere Edition which I believe is the Cappuccino Frost which includes the 17" black smoked chrome wheels, the black chrome exterior pkg. including smoked fogs, headlamps. Also includes spoiler, accent stripes, custom floor mats, color keyed mirrors and running boards.

My VIN is 7S630652. Built 5/22/2007

Let's see if we can determine if there is a method to the madness of the VIN numbers in determining what's what, how many, etc.

Could someone start a thread of their various editions seperately, so we can analyze the numbers?

I would be leery about posting your VIN numbers, isn't there identity theft/fraud of sort?

Hummmmm

1. vins are a not real big secret, just look through any front windshield at the dash plate. Thats a PRO.

2. 300,000 HHR all total sold, maybe 5000 here (1.66 %), 5000 Premieres sold (?), maybe 83 here (I doubt it). Not a big enough data base for anything significant here IMHO. Thats a CON.

3. If you want mine you got it, just ask again

VIN Decoder

Sindy was nice enough to send me this, and I will pass it on. Thus, if I read it right, if we only entered the last 6 digits of the VIN, we could analyze production numbers, if they exist, for each edition. It is in response to the question as to whether these cars were numbered, or should tell you if you have the first ever made vs. the last, etc. Maybe a little nonsense, but more enjoyable than reading about Brittany Spears....

Since the only part of a VIN that matters on this thread is the last eight, how about posting just that.

GM now tracks all dealerships on key codes. They also work closely with all law enforcement agencies to prevent dealer employees from aiding or abetting car thieves. 5 years ago an employee was arrested at a local dealer in connection with 30 or more thefts. A lot has changed since then. Dealers now could lose their franchise agreement if an employee was caught aiding in thefts. It is now closely monitored. If you go to a dealership to get a key cut you must provide photo ID and proof of ownership of the vehicle before they will cut a key. A copy of the ID and the proof of ownership must be kept for GM audit purposes or for law enforcement, if needed.
