Bought used and love the car and its features. Reminds me of my PT Cruiser. The ac gave problems, dealer paid to have the BCM replaced. $$$, he backs what he sells even with 108,000 miles. I want to know is it normal to drive a few minutes after starting with ac on drawing outside air and it blows hot. ? Then it blows cold and is ok. Went to Charlottesville cold up and for 3 minutes coming back was hot. Before leaving blowing hot, uturn to get my Buick Encore which has good ac cold air from get go. HHR is uniques in many ways, like vented to outside battery in the trunk/under the tire. Let me know I can keep this car...before the BCM, I was offered what I paid "on any car on the lot"...man in business 45 years, see why I buy from TK.

Something is wrong, probably something simple that a mechanic could spot.
Or, maybe something in the controls that reading the Owner Manual would help. Link in my sig.

My AC just had a problem, over 92 degrees out and the AC blows warm air, it turns out the 134A Freon was over charged in the system, I had the system evacuated and ensured it hel a vacuum for 30 to 35 minutes, then refilled with fresh Freon , problem solved, nice and cold in there and today was 92 degrees outside.

Welcome Aboard. The Battery is in back, but Next to the spare, not under it. And that is a good thing (away from engine heat). most members including me have been on the Original Battery for 10 years & more. (Not everyone, but many for sure).
I only a year ago just replaced my original, from 2007 when mine was built.
