Is 2009 the end for HHR?
With all the downsizing going on at GM, I wonder if the HHR. I see the same HHRs at my local Chevy dealer that were there two months ago when I was shopping for one. They have a 2008 2lt with 28000 miles and still have $15,800 on the window. No wonder they are stuck with it.

GM would be damned foolish to drop the HHR. At least in my community, the local dealerships can't keep them on the lot for longer than a week, and I regularly see five or six on the road, in customer hands (not to mention the ones purchased by companies for use as delivery/supervisor vehicles). GM has already been damned foolish by severely restricting the advertising for the car: a lot of the purchasing I've been seeing around has been because of strictly word-of-mouth information about the car.

The HHR is the best-selling car in it's "class" and has remained a steady seller. There is also a large market in fleet purchases for companies using them as delivery vehicles, service vehicles, etc. 2010 model is on the books per my local dealership service manager, but may be replaced by the Orlando concept after that.

The HHR is/was so far ahead of the competition when it was introduced. Think about it - the rest of the manufacturers have now come out with their attempts to imiatate the HHR body style - look at the Kia Soul along with some of the other (ugly) squared off vehicles. Our HHRs give the storage they don't have, the HP, versalitity, youthful yet retro, etc. looks.
I suspect they will drop the car in a year or so, but I believe it will be replaced with something that meets the same needs of the HHR market.

actually I would say toyota beat GM w/ this type of vehicle. The Scion Xb was the first boxy vehicle of this size. (excluding the ugly honda element as it is larger.) The new redesgned Xb has more curves to it and looks even more like the HHR. I like the original Xb over the new one. I saw a kia soul for the first time in person and I think I threw up in my mouth a little. I joke I joke
