2009 HHR Fog light install

Has anyone installed gm foglights on their 2009 HHR? I have ordered the lights the switch for the dash, but can't get the local dealers to give me the how to. I need to know how to get the bumper off and find the pigs for the lights. Any help appreciated

I would like to know if the wire harness is in place. If that is the case, just add fuse, relay, lights, and switch.

contact your Gm dealer with the last eight of your Vin and they should be able to tell you if it is wired for it or not. If not then you have to put new wires for the lights in place. Try to remove the inner splash shield and it should give you access to the back of the bumper.

Unless something has changed, and I doubt it has, the 2009-2010 are not wired for fog lamps. There is a thread in the How-To forum on how to install.

If it did not have Fog lamps it will not have the wire harness. You DO NOT have to take off the the bumper cover... The fog light hole plugs just unsnap out and the fog lamp assy. just snap in. You will need the pigtails that plug into the lamps and make a harness. There is a HOW TO on installing factory fogs

I have a 2009 LS and it came with nothing I bought the fog lights on ebay they just snap in to the original location just remove fender well splash panels and reach in twist and pop out the blanks and replace with new lights , I wired mine as if I were putting aux lights in , I tapped of of fuse box wired to a aux fuse then a relay, and wired the on / off switch to input on relay and output from relay to lights, you can get pigtails to match your bulbs from most autoparts stores , there is a write up on this site that does use most of the factory parts but if your car is not setup for it it could turn into a lot of work and extra money, I bought my switch at autozone drilled a hole right where the factory switch goes , it looks great and works just fine goodluck.
