2009 HHR Info

I went in to order a 2009. Here is some info I found out.

A “spotter mirror” option is now available. (Maybe only on the panel version.) It is a small fisheye mirror located in the upper right of the passenger-side mirror.

There is now a “ladder rack” option, which is a locking rack specially-designed to carry ladders on the roof. (That might be an interesting look.)

The back-up camera display is on the left side of the rear-view mirror. The compass is still on the right side.

There is a “Slide-Out Tray” option, which slides out of the back about 2 feet and can hold up to 200 pounds. (I guess I won’t be sitting on it!)

The 2.4 LT automatic is listed as 29 mpg highway, unlike the 2008 which is listed as 28.

The brochures say that XM is now standard, but the dealer was able to delete it on his computer order. He was unable to delete OnStar.

There is a “Black Chrome” option for the handles, mirrors, and grill. Does that mean the LS/LT can come with the black mesh SS grill or is it the same as the chrome LS/LT grill only black? My dealer did not know.

there are pics of the spotter mirror that some have taken on here somewhere. If i remember right the option is like 35 bucks, but seems like you could diy with the add on kinds a lot cheaper.

the slide out tray sounds cool but 200 lbs is nothing.

the black chrome can also be seen on here, a lot have ordered it and added it. It was on the fall edition or something like that too. It's still chrome but is a lot darker. looks pretty good but i've also heard of it losing the "black" look of it over a short time.

my guess is it's supposed to be for tools and cargo, but 200lbs doesn't seem like it could do much. There was someone on here looking for something like that one time.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm going to order one next month and my dealer is not as up-to-speed as yours!
