Is there a shifter I can get or a trick I can do to trans to be able to shift all 4 gears not just 3

 

Can you explain a bit more of what you are expecting? 4th gear is overdrive and will not kick in until you are going 45mph or more.

 

I think he is referring to have the shifter indicate 123D so he can shift to each one.

 

If I pit the shifter in L take off hard then shift into I works great but then it shifts it self into D and when I put shifter in D it goes in to over drive. So I was wanting to be able to controle all the shifts hope this explains it better. Thanks again

 

That shift in the "I" position is controlled by the computer, I don't think a different shifter would change this...... besides the fact that as far as I have seen nobody makes and after market shifter for the automatic HHR.

 

Possibly a re-programming tune ?

 

Ok thanks for the help dose any one recommend a rear sway bar seams a bit soft or any shocks to help

 

Why are you shifting an automatic, that isn't manual valve body?

 

Place in first gear...hammer gas....let it shift to 2nd at whatever high rpm its set at ...immediatly shift to 2nd and then back to 1st and it will hold 2nd forever/.......or if you shift to second yourself place it back to 1st to hold it...it will not go back into 1st until the speedo is below, oh, say 35 or less...then you can shift to 3rd at your whim...OD will not kick in untill you feather out the throttle.........

 

About the mildest sway bar would be the Progress Tech bar imo.. On Ebay regularly..
